The Data Acquisition Shell (DAS) is UIT’s proprietary tool developed to integrate, monitor, display and record information from several different geophysical instruments and positioning sensors. The capabilities of DAS dramatically facilitate the simultaneous collection of 3-D subsurface information generated by various platforms. Prior to the creation of DAS, collection of multi-sensor data required several separate data acquisition programs and these data were later merged into a single data set one at a time. DAS possesses the unique ability to handle each sensor’s data acquisition and position referencing capabilities in an efficient, streamlined, windows-based data integration program

DAS is scalable and adaptable to other (present or emerging) data collection systems. These qualities ensure that DAS will remain on the leading edge of data acquisition in the subsurface mapping industry as new geophysical sensors and positioning systems are being introduced.
