UIT maintains a readily accessible digital archive of information, images and maps of underground infrastructure and its environment. Beginning with the comprehensive database of its mapping projects to date, the digital archive will continue to expand as more projects are completed.
The archive includes:
- Subsurface geophysical data collected from around the country by UIT
- Overlapping and neighboring data from separate projects are reconciled to develop seamless documentation of the subsurface world
- Analyzed data and 3D representations of individual infrastructure elements
UIT envisions that this repository of archived subsurface information will serve as a reusable resource for both public and private organizations.
